1. What we collect

To run BLYQUE, we collect the information you give us directly and a small amount of information generated by using the app:

  • Account info: your name, username, email, password (stored securely, never in plain text), and profile photo.
  • Content you create: messages, stories, group names, and any nicknames or chat customizations you set.
  • Usage data: when you were last active, delivery and read status of messages, and basic device/browser info needed to keep the app working.

2. How we use it

We use your information only to operate BLYQUE: delivering your messages, showing your friends' stories, enforcing blocks and restrictions you set up, and keeping your account secure. We do not use your messages to train advertising models or sell them to third parties.

3. When we share it

We don't sell your personal data. We share information only in these cases:

  • With the specific friends or group members you're messaging, exactly as you'd expect.
  • With service providers who help us run the app (such as our database and hosting provider), under confidentiality obligations.
  • When required by law, or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Your controls

BLYQUE gives you direct control over your privacy:

  • Restrict or block anyone, at any time, from your Privacy & Safety settings.
  • Turn off read receipts and typing indicators.
  • Set messages in any chat to disappear automatically.
  • Hide your story from specific people.
  • Export your chat history or contact support to request account deletion.

5. Data retention

We keep your messages and account data as long as your account is active. Disappearing messages are removed from view according to the setting you choose, though some content may be briefly retained in backups for reliability purposes before being permanently deleted.

6. Security

We use row-level access controls so that only the people involved in a conversation can read it, enforce blocks at the database level, and never store passwords in plain text. See our Security page for more detail.
